In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful,
Dear reader it is important for me to clarify that I am not a scholar.Rather am a student of knowledge who wishes to share what little knowledge I have gained so far in my life as a Muslim trying to learn more about her deen.
Inspired by the same ayah that inspired me to start this blog (Quran 67:10) I went through the Quran to compile a list of ayahs that exhorted us directly to either listen or reason. It is my hope that this endeavor will prove beneficial to me and you in this world and the next.By the Mercy of Allah hopefully we will implement what we learn and not be of those who will earn the wrath of our Kind Lord.
Having said that let us proceed to the first ayah in the series of ayahs that we shall inshaAllah be reflecting on.
“That is more likely that they will give testimony according to its [true] objective, or [at least] they would fear that [other] oaths might be taken after their oaths. And fear Allah and listen; and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.”Quran 5:108
In this ayah and the one preceding it Allah the Exalted Most High gives a ruling regarding witnesses to the bequest of a dying person. He subhanahu wa taala(the Exalted Most High) ends this verse with the statement that we should have Taqwa of Him (IE protect ourselves from earning the wrath of our Lord by fulfilling His commands and abstaining from His prohibitions) in all our affairs and listen and that He guides not the defiantly disobedient.
You and I dear reader should use the faculty of hearing that Allah subhanahu wa taala has given us and listen to what He commands us to do or refrain from doing.
May Allah swt guide us to that which He loves.
Asalaam aleykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.(Peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah and His blessings)
