In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful,
Dear reader in this post we shall inshaAllah(God Willing) look at the 204th ayah of the 7th Surah of the Quran.
Allah swt says:
وَإِذَا قُرِىءَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُواْ لَهُ وَأَنصِتُواْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
“So when the Quran is recited listen to it and be silent that you may receive Mercy.”
Dear reader, as a mark of respect which is due to the book of Allah one should be silent and listen to it.Its important for one to listen attentively and consider the teachings contained in it and strive to live according to said teachings.
Its also deduced from this that when the Imam recites the Quran during the prayer the follower in the congregation should listen to it in silence and difference of opinion is in the recitation of Al-Fatiha (the first surah of the Quran)
The Messenger of Allah Muhammad peace be upon Him in an authentic narration told his companions that no one will enter Paradise through their deeds. The companions may Allah be pleased with them asked,”Not even you oh messenger of Allah?”What was his peace be upon hims’ reply? He may peace be upon him said not even he would enter paradise unless Allah had Mercy on Him.
In this amazing ayah our Lord our Merciful Kind Forgiving Lord commands us to listen silently and attentively when the Quran is recited so that we can receive Mercy.
Each and every one of us is in dire need of the Mercy of Allah. Thus lets strive to implement this ayah and the next time we listen to a recitation of the Quran even though you may not understand the Arabic just listen.Listen so that you may receive mercy.
May Allah subhanahu wa taala have Mercy on us.
Asalaam aleykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.(Peace and the Mercy and the blessings of Allah be upon you)
