Avoid arguing,

In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful,

Quran 3:65

“O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?”

This is addressed to the Jews and Christians who argued over Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Him) each claiming he followed their religion.

However,Allah clearly points out that Abraham pbuh lived before either the Torah or the Gospel was sent down.

The lesson derived from this ayah and the one which follows(and Allah knows best) is to avoid arguing and disputing without knowledge and to refer what we have no knowledge of to Allah who possess complete and perfect knowledge.

In Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Number 637 we find the following narration,

Narrated `Aisha:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The most hated person in the sight of Allah is the most quarrelsome person.”

May Allah have Mercy on you dear Muslim avoid arguing.Speak that which is good or keep silent.

Asalaam aleykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh(May the peace, blessings and mercy of Allah be upon you)
