Lessons in their night travels,

In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful,

Quran 37:138

“وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ”

“And at night. Then will you not use reason?”

Dear reader, the reference is in regards to the ruins of the people of lot which the Quraysh (the dominant Arab tribe at the time of the Prophet Muhammad upon whom be peace) passed by in their trade caravans to the Levant.

Thus by looking at the end consequence of the disbelievers and evil doers they should reason and avoid the path that lead to such a miserable end.

The same applies to us and all those who come after us.We should take heed from what befell those who earned the wrath of God and do our best to avoid a similar fate. Our Lord is Kind,Merciful,Forgiving,Appreciative,Forbearing and He loves those who repent to Him.However, His punishment is severe. Therefore flee from His wrath to His Mercy.

The Quraysh would pass by the ruins of the people of Lot by day and night.Any reasonable person would thus hasten to seek the forgiveness of His Lord when He saw the evil end for those who earned the punishment of Allah.

It is neither difficult nor time consuming to sincerely seek the forgiveness of Allah.

Astaghfirullah  al-adheem wa atubu ilayhi(I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Most Great and repent to Him.)

Always seek His forgiveness and know that He is the Most Forgiving Most Merciful and beware for indeed His punishment is severe.

and Allah knows best.

Asalaam aleykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (May the peace and Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon you.)
