In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful,
“So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.”
Dear reader have we not traveled to ruins of past nations and seen what became of them?Perhaps you dear reader cannot travel physically to such places but you can travel through documentaries and books(This is my personal observation and Allah knows best.)
What became of those nations is they earned the wrath of their Lord and the punishment descended upon them from whence they did not expect.
Dear reader if after all one sees of what befall the past nations does not cause him/her to take heed then the issue is spiritual. Thus the blind person in this verse is not the one whose eyes cannot see but rather the one who has no insight;whose heart does not cause him to reason. Thus the blindness is metaphorical and not literal.
We seek refuge in Allah the Exalted Most High from blind hearts.
Praise is due to Allah who causes us to see.
and Allah knows best.
Asalaam aleykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. (May the peace and Mercy and Blessings of Allah be upon you.)
